India has donated $ 400,000 (more than Rs 3 crore) to as many as four Voluntary Trust Funds, according to information released by the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations in Geneva. It went on to say that the donation to Voluntary Trust Funds was made to show India’s commitment to the global advancement and protection of human rights as well as its support for the UN Human Rights Council. India has donated $400,000 to 4 Voluntary Trust Funds on Torture, Technical Cooperation, Implementation of UPR & LDCs/SIDS, reflecting our commitment to worldwide promotion & protection of human rights and support for @UNHumanRights.

जिनेवा में संयुक्त राष्ट्र में भारत के स्थायी मिशन द्वारा जारी सूचना के अनुसार, भारत ने चार स्वैच्छिक ट्रस्ट फंडों में 400,000 डॉलर (3 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक) का दान दिया है। इसमें कहा गया है कि स्वैच्छिक ट्रस्ट फंड में दान वैश्विक प्रगति और मानवाधिकारों की सुरक्षा के लिए भारत की प्रतिबद्धता के साथ-साथ संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार परिषद के लिए उसके समर्थन को दिखाने के लिए किया गया था। भारत ने यातना, तकनीकी सहयोग, यूपीआर और एलडीसी /एसआईडीएस के कार्यान्वयन पर 4 स्वैच्छिक ट्रस्ट फंडों में $ 400,000 का दान दिया है, जो मानवाधिकारों के विश्वव्यापी संवर्धन और संरक्षण और @UNHumanRights के लिए समर्थन के लिए हमारी प्रतिबद्धता को दर्शाता है।
In his Independence Day speech on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India should take a pledge to become a developed country by 2047 – the 100th year of independence. The prime minister urged citizens of the country to work towards achieving the “panch pran”, or five pledges, in the next 25 years. Apart from making India a developed country, the citizens should remove traces of colonial mindset, take pride in their roots, forge unity and inculcate a sense of duty, Modi said.

Malaysia’s premier men’s hockey tournament, the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2022 will be held from November 16 to 25 in Ipoh. The tournament is making a return after a two-year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. World No 1 Australia, fifth-ranked Germany, India, New Zealand, and Canada have been invited to the tournament. All matches will be played at the Azlan Shah Stadium in the city of Ipoh in Malaysia, which is the permanent venue of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup.

Wholesale price-based inflation, WPI eased to 13.93 per cent in July as compared to 15.18 per cent in preceding month. According to the Commerce and Industry Ministry, WPI inflation fell on easing prices of food articles and manufactured products. The Wholesale inflation was at a record high of 15.88 per cent in May this year and stood at 11.57 per cent in July last year.

Researchers in Hyderabad have successfully 3D-printed an artificial cornea (3D-printed Human Cornea) and placed it in a rabbit eye for the first time ever in India. A 3D-printed Human cornea made from human donor corneal tissue has been created by researchers from the L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H), and the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB).

The federal government has awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz to Pakistan men’s cricket team captain Babar Azam on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the country’s independence. Meghalaya is all set to host the upcoming 2nd edition of the North East Olympics from 30th October. Meghalaya Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, and the North East Olympic Association was held last evening to finalize the list of sports disciplines. The first edition of the Games was held in Manipur in 2018, with 12 disciplines.

मेघालय 30 अक्टूबर से पूर्वोत्तर ओलंपिक के आगामी दूसरे संस्करण की मेजबानी करने के लिए तैयार है। मेघालय खेल और युवा मामले विभाग और पूर्वोत् तर ओलम्पिक संघ की बैठक कल शाम खेल विधाओं की सूची को अंतिम रूप देने के लिए की गई। खेलों का पहला संस्करण 2018 में मणिपुर में आयोजित किया गया था, जिसमें 12 विषयों के साथ आयोजित किया गया था।
