In a first, India to have a WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Gujarat’s Jamnagar

India and WHO have agreed to set up a global traditional medicine center in Jamnagar.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Government of India signed a Memorandum of Understanding to set up a Global Center for Traditional Medicine in Gujarat. According to a WHO statement, the onsite inauguration of WHO’s new Global Center for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar, Gujarat, India will take place on 21 April 2022.

ICRA slashed India’s GDP growth forecast to 7.2% in FY13.

Rating agency ICRA has reduced India’s GDP growth forecast to 7.2 per cent in 2022-23 (FY23). Earlier this rate was 8 percent. ICRA Ltd. The U.S. has projected GDP growth for 2021-22 (FY22) at 8.5%, lower than the National Statistics Office’s official advance estimate of 8.9%.

Museum of all former Prime Ministers of India to be inaugurated soon

A museum of all former prime ministers, the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya (Museum of the Prime Ministers), has been built at Teen Murti Estate in Delhi. The Rs 270 crore project will be inaugurated on April 14, 2022 at Teen Murti Bhawan complex, which was the residence of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

IFS officer Renu Singh appointed Director of Forest Research Institute (FRI).

Dr Renu Singh has been appointed by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF) as the next Director of Forest Research Institute (FRI) in Dehradun. She will be the second woman director of the institute. Singh joined as FRI Director after AS Rawat, Director General, ICFRE handed over the additional charge of FRI Director to him.

Himanta Biswa Sarma was re-elected as the President of Badminton Association of India.

The current President of Badminton Association of India (BAI), Himanta Biswa Sarma has been elected unopposed for a second four-year term from 2022 to 2026.
