Dr Cyrus S Poonawalla, Chairman and Managing Director of Serum Institute of India (SII), has topped the Hurun Global Healthcare Rich List 2022 and has become the richest billionaire in the healthcare sector 2022. He has topped the list with a new value of USD 26 billion (up 41%).

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya organized a week-long celebration under the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to mark the fourth anniversary of Ayushman Bharat- Health and Wellness Centers (AB-HWCs) from April 16 to April 22. The World Bank has lowered the global growth forecast for 2022 to 3.2%. Earlier it was estimated to be 4.1 percent. The downward revision is due to the effect of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on the world economy. The reason the projection has been reduced is because people are facing less commercial activity and trade, and the debt crisis and currency depreciation have placed a heavy burden on the poor. The world is also facing reversals in the development of education, health and gender equality.

विश्व बैंक ने 2022 के लिए वैश्विक विकास पूर्वानुमान को घटाकर 3.2% कर दिया है। पहले यह 4.1 फीसदी रहने का अनुमान था। विश्व अर्थव्यवस्था पर रूस के यूक्रेन पर आक्रमण के प्रभाव के कारण नीचे की ओर संशोधन है। प्रक्षेपण को कम करने का कारण यह है कि लोगों को कम वाणिज्यिक गतिविधि और व्यापार का सामना करना पड़ रहा है, और ऋण संकट और मुद्रा मूल्यह्रास ने गरीबों पर भारी बोझ डाला है। शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य और लैंगिक समानता के विकास में भी दुनिया उलटफेर का सामना कर रही है।
Indian Grandmaster Domaraju Gukesh has won the 48th La Roda International Open chess tournament title in Castile-La Mancha, Spain. He defeated Viktor Mikhalevsky of Israel in the final round. Armenia’s GM Haik M. Martirosyan finished second with 7.5 points. Indian General Manager Rameshbabu Pragyanand finished third, followed by Raunak Sadhwani (India), Manuel Lopez Martinez Josep (Spain) and Ramon Martinez (Venezuela).

State Bank of India (SBI), India’s largest commercial bank, has raised USD 500 million through a three-year syndicated loan facility through its International Financial Services Center (IFSC) Gujarat International Finance Tec (GIFT) City branch . The facility is worth USD 400 million with a greenshoe option of USD 100 million. SBI, on the other hand, did not provide pricing information. SBI’s GIFT City branch has extended its first offshore USD Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR) linked syndicated loan.

The first portable solar roof system in India has been inaugurated at the Swaminarayan Akshardham temple complex in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The 10 photovoltaic PV port system has been manufactured by New Delhi-based Servotech Power Systems Ltd and designed by the German development agency Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Jussamenerbeit (GIZ).

London-based cryptocurrency lender, Nexo has joined hands with global payments firm MasterCard to launch the world’s first “crypto-backed” payment card. Electronic money firm DiPocket is the card issuer of Nexo. The card does not require any minimum payment, monthly or inactivity fees.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) in its latest World Economic Outlook report released on April 19, 2022 has slashed India’s GDP growth forecast to 8.2 percent in FY23.

The Supreme Court of India has reconstituted the Expert Committee to oversee compensatory afforestation and other mitigation measures for the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor Expressway project. The 12-member independent expert committee was constituted by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to be headed by Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, Chief Secretary, Uttarakhand.

भारत के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने दिल्ली-देहरादून आर्थिक कॉरिडोर एक्सप्रेसवे परियोजना के लिए प्रतिपूरक वनीकरण और अन्य शमन उपायों की निगरानी के लिए विशेषज्ञ समिति का पुनर्गठन किया है। 12 सदस्यीय स्वतंत्र विशेषज्ञ समिति का गठन राष्ट्रीय हरित अधिकरण (एनजीटी) द्वारा किया गया था, जिसकी अध्यक्षता सुखबीर सिंह संधू मुख्य सचिव, उत्तराखंड करेंगे।
