1. “Once Upon a Time in Kolkata” won the top prize of the Grand Jury Prize at the IFFLA 2022 Indian Film Festival.

The 2022 Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) announced the award winners for its 20th annual edition, which featured a celebratory return to in-theater screenings and presentations. Aditya Vikram Sengupta’s ‘Once Upon a Time in Kolkata’ won the grand jury Prize for Best Feature Film.

“वंस अपॉन ए टाइम इन कोलकाता” ने आईएफएफएलए 2022 भारतीय फिल्म समारोह में ग्रैंड जूरी पुरस्कार का शीर्ष पुरस्कार जीता।

2022 के लॉस एंजिल्स के भारतीय फिल्म महोत्सव (IFFLA) ने अपने 20 वें वार्षिक संस्करण के लिए पुरस्कार विजेताओं की घोषणा की, जिसमें इन-थिएटर स्क्रीनिंग और प्रस्तुतियों के लिए एक उत्सवपूर्ण वापसी थी। आदित्य विक्रम सेनगुप्ता की ‘वंस अपॉन ए टाइम इन कोलकाता’ ने सर्वश्रेष्ठ फीचर फिल्म का ग्रैंड जूरी पुरस्कार जीता।

2. Real Madrid won the Spanish football league “La Liga 2022” title.

The winner of the first La Liga was FC Barcelona who won in 1929 beating Real Madrid, lets see the list of all La Liga winners and the most successful club in La Liga. It is one of the world’s most popular football leagues. The ‘Copa Del Rey’ was Spain’s national championship before the beginning of the Liga. With 20 competing teams, the League’s core structure embeds the dual-round robin format. Every season every team has a total of 38 matches, each with two matches against each other.

3. David Warner became the first player to score most fifties in T20 cricket.

Delhi Capitals star opener David Warner broke Chris Gayle’s record for most fifties in T20 when he hit his 89th fifty in the shortest format against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. Warner now has the most fifties in T20 cricket.

4. Tony Brooks has passed away as he was an F1 racer.

Tony Brooks, the last surviving Formula 1 race winner from the 1950s, has passed away at the age of 90. Born Charles Anthony Standish Brooks on February 25 1932, Brooks was known as the ‘The Racing Dentist’, having famously dovetailed his studies in dentistry at the University of Manchester with the beginnings of his racing career – Brooks then qualifying as a dentist in 1956.

5. 2 students from India won the NASA Rover Challenge.

Two Indian Student groups from Punjab and Tamil Nadu have won the NASA 2022 Human Exploration Rover Challenge. The competition was organised by NASA’s office of STEM Engagement. Out of 91 teams present, the two groups from India proceeded to win the challenge.

6. Archana Gulati has been appointed as Google’s new head of public policy.

Alphabet Inc’s Google has hired a new public policy head in India, Archana Gulati, who previously worked at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s federal think-tank and the country’s antitrust watchdog, a source with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters. A number of Indian government officials have been hired by Big Tech companies which are battling tighter data and privacy regulation, as well as competition law scrutiny, under Modi’s federal government.

7. New Zealand decided to withdraw from the 32nd leg of the Thomas Cup Finals.

New Zealand has pulled out of the Thomas Cup Finals beginning in Bangkok on May 8 after a few team members tested positive for COVID-19. USA will replace New Zealand in Group D of the tournament. “Team New Zealand has withdrawn from the BWF Thomas Cup Finals 2022 due to a significant number of their squad being unable to participate,” the game’s governing body BWF said in a statement on Wednesday. “Team USA confirmed their participation and will take their place in Thomas Cup Group D alongside Japan, Malaysia, and England.”
