UPTET 2021 Exam Pattern (Paper 1 & 2)

Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is conducted for two papers – I and II. Candidates need to appear for UPTET paper-I if they plan to teach Classes 1-5. UPTET Exam Pattern 2021 for Paper-I

As indicated above, UPTET Paper-I is divided into five sections. Each section contains 30 objective-type multiple-choice questions with 30 marks. The total duration given to complete the paper is 150 minutes. Candidates have to attempt the paper in offline mode as a pen-and-paper-based test. For further clarification, candidates can refer to the table below:

Nature & Level of Questions in Paper-I

Check some important points about the questions asked in UPTET paper-I below:

Questions in Child Development and Pedagogy section focus on the educational psychology and teaching methods for students belonging to the age group of 6-11 years

Language-II is a separate language from language-I. Candidates can choose any one language out of the available options (English/Urdu/Sanskrit) at the time of filing t. Questions in language-II focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

Questions in Mathematics and Environmental Studies focus on the concepts of these subjects, problem-solving abilities and understanding of teaching methods. Questions in these subject areas are distributed equally in the different sections of the syllabus of that subject.

The questions in paper-I are based on the topics prescribed in the Basic Education Council syllabus for classes I-V, but their difficulty level is of intermediate level

UPTET Exam Pattern 2021 for Paper-II

UPTET paper-II is divided into four sections. The first three sections contain 30 questions each and the fourth section contains 60 questions. In the fourth section, candidates have the choice to appear for either Mathematics and Science or Social Studies subject. Candidates need to complete the exam in a duration of 150 minutes. The exam is conducted as a pen-paper based test.

In Child Development & Pedagogy section, questions are based on child development and teaching methods relevant to the age group of 11-14 years

Language-II is a separate language from language-I. Candidates can choose any one language out of the available options at the time of filing the application form. Questions in language-II focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

UPTET Marking Scheme 2021

In Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test, candidates are given four choices for every question. Candidates need to select the one correct answer out of the four given options. One mark is allotted for every correct answer. There is no negative marking in the exam.
