Durand Cup 2022:  Here are details of Asia’s oldest football tournament –schedule, timings & venue

1. Asia’s oldest football tournament Durand Cup started in Kolkata.

In Football, FC Goa will take on Mohammedan Sporting Club in the opening tie of the Durand Cup at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata at 7 pm today. The tournament will feature 20 teams, of which 11 teams will be the clubs that play Indian Super League, five teams will be from I-League and four teams from the Armed forces. For the first time in its history, the tournament is being held in multiple cities. West Bengal, Assam and Manipur are hosting the Durand Cup 2022.

2. According to the survey of Ipsos India, the most trusted institutions of India are the Army, Reserve Bank and Prime Minister.

Defence forces, RBI and Prime Minister of India are the three most trusted institutions in the country, according to a survey by Ipsos India. The Supreme Court of India came fourth and it was followed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Defence Forces with at least 2 in 3 (65 per cent of respondents) reposing faith in them was ranked first, followed by Reserve Bank of India with 1 in 2 (50 per cent). Prime Minister of India as an institution was at the third spot with 49 per cent citizens having trust in it, the survey said.

इप्सोस इंडिया के एक सर्वेक्षण के अनुसार, रक्षा बल, आरबीआई और भारत के प्रधान मंत्री देश के तीन सबसे भरोसेमंद संस्थान हैं। भारत का सर्वोच्च न्यायालय चौथे स्थान पर आया और उसके बाद केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो (CBI) आया। 3 में से कम से कम 2 (उत्तरदाताओं का 65 प्रतिशत) के साथ रक्षा बलों को पहले स्थान पर रखा गया था, इसके बाद भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक 2 में से 1 (50 प्रतिशत) के साथ था। सर्वेक्षण में कहा गया है कि भारत के प्रधान मंत्री एक संस्थान के रूप में तीसरे स्थान पर हैं, जिसमें 49 प्रतिशत नागरिकों का भरोसा है।

 

3. FIFA suspends the Football Federation of India.

Hours after India celebrated its 75 years of independence, Fifa, the governing body for world football, suspended the All India Football Federation for “undue interference by a third party”, a first since the federation was formed in 1937.

4. India’s Kolkata city will host the International Seafood Show.

India’s tremendous strides in the seafood sector will be exhibited in all its facets as the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), in association with the Seafood Exporters Association of India (SEAI), will hold the 23rd edition of India International Seafood Show (IISS) in Kolkata from February 15 to 17 in 2023.

5. Indian Railway Protection Force has launched “Operation Yatri Suraksha” campaign to provide 24-hour security to the passengers.

As part of this initiative, several steps are being taken to provide foolproof security to passengers i.e. train escorting, visible presence on stations, surveillance through CCTV, surveillance on active criminals, collection of intelligence about the criminals and action thereupon, identifying black spots and crime prone trains/sections and enhancing security thereat among others to formulate an actionable strategy to reduce crime against passengers.

6. On the 76th Independence Day, the tricolor was saluted for the first time with an indigenous cannon named “Advance Toad Artillery Gun System”.

For the first time, a home-grown howitzer gun will be used for the ceremonial 21-gun salute during the Independence Day ceremony at Red Fort, Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar said on Wednesday. The Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) has been developed under the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The ATAGS will give the ceremonial 21-gun salute along with the British guns, which have been traditionally used till now, Kumar said.

रक्षा सचिव अजय कुमार ने बुधवार को कहा कि लाल किले में स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोह के दौरान औपचारिक 21 तोपों की सलामी के लिए पहली बार घरेलू होवित्जर तोप का इस्तेमाल किया जाएगा। रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) द्वारा सरकार की ‘मेक इन इंडिया’ पहल के तहत उन्नत टोड आर्टिलरी गन सिस्टम (ATAGS) विकसित किया गया है। कुमार ने कहा कि एटीएजीएस ब्रिटिश तोपों के साथ 21 तोपों की औपचारिक सलामी देगा, जिनका अब तक पारंपरिक रूप से इस्तेमाल किया जाता रहा है।

 

7. On the completion of 75 years of independence, the tricolor was hoisted at a height of 30 km from the earth.

On the country’s 76th Independence Day, the tricolour was not only unfurled across the country and the world, but also in space on Monday. The tricolour was sent to the edge of space on a balloon by Space Kidz India, an Indian aerospace organisation that launches satellites made by high school and college students. Also, Indian-American Nasa astronaut Raja Chari shared a photo of the Indian flag at the International Space Station (ISS).

देश के 76वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस पर सोमवार को न केवल देश और दुनिया में बल्कि अंतरिक्ष में भी तिरंगा फहराया गया. हाई स्कूल और कॉलेज के छात्रों द्वारा बनाए गए उपग्रहों को लॉन्च करने वाले एक भारतीय एयरोस्पेस संगठन स्पेस किड्ज़ इंडिया द्वारा एक गुब्बारे पर तिरंगे को अंतरिक्ष के किनारे पर भेजा गया था। साथ ही, भारतीय-अमेरिकी नासा अंतरिक्ष यात्री राजा चारी ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अंतरिक्ष स्टेशन (आईएसएस) पर भारतीय ध्वज की एक तस्वीर साझा की।

 

8. The Golden Joint of Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest bridge, was inaugurated in August 2022.

The golden joint of the world’s highest railway bridge over River Chenab was inaugurated. For the first time ever since independence, Srinagar will be linked to the rest of India after the overarch deck on the world’s highest single-arch railway bridge over River Chenab. The bridge will be 35 meters higher than the Eiffel Tower.

चिनाब नदी पर बने दुनिया के सबसे ऊंचे रेलवे पुल के स्वर्णिम संयुक्त का उद्घाटन किया गया। आजादी के बाद पहली बार चिनाब नदी पर बने दुनिया के सबसे ऊंचे सिंगल-आर्क रेलवे पुल पर ओवरआर्क डेक के बाद श्रीनगर को शेष भारत से जोड़ा जाएगा। यह ब्रिज एफिल टावर से 35 मीटर ऊंचा होगा।

 

9. National Sports Climbing Competition 2022 was organized in Uttarakhand.

The Nehru Institute of Mountaineering will host the national sports climbing championship here from August 12-14, officials said on Monday. Nearly 250 climbers from all over the country will participate in the three-day event being hosted by NIM for the first time, they said.

नेशनल स्पोर्टस क्लाइंबिंग प्रतियोगिता 2022 का आयोजन उत्तराखंड में किया गया |

अधिकारियों ने सोमवार को बताया कि नेहरू पर्वतारोहण संस्थान 12-14 अगस्त तक यहां राष्ट्रीय खेल चढ़ाई चैंपियनशिप की मेजबानी करेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि देश भर से लगभग 250 पर्वतारोही पहली बार एनआईएम द्वारा आयोजित तीन दिवसीय कार्यक्रम में भाग लेंगे।
