The first G20 Energy Transition Working Group (ETWG) Meeting under India’s Presidency will be held in Bengaluru, from Feb 5-7, 2023. The meeting will have over 150 participants including G20 member countries, nine special invitee guest countries – Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, UAE and Spain. In addition, leading international organizations such as The World Bank, Asian Development Bank, United Nations Development Program (UNDP), International Energy Agency (IEA), Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM), United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), International Solar Alliance (ISA), United Nations International Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), RD20 and knowledge partners will be part of the Meeting. Senior government officials from the concerned Ministries will also participate in the ETWG Meeting.

भारत की अध्यक्षता में पहली जी 20 ऊर्जा संक्रमण कार्य समूह (ईटीडब्ल्यूजी) की बैठक 5-7 फरवरी, 2023 को बेंगलुरु में आयोजित की जाएगी। बैठक में जी-20 के सदस्य देशों, नौ विशेष आमंत्रित अतिथि देशों – बांग्लादेश, मिस्र, मॉरीशस, नीदरलैंड, नाइजीरिया, ओमान, सिंगापुर, संयुक्त अरब अमीरात और स्पेन सहित 150 से अधिक प्रतिभागी भाग लेंगे। इसके अलावा, विश्व बैंक, एशियाई विकास बैंक, संयुक्त राष्ट्र विकास कार्यक्रम (यूएनडीपी), अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ऊर्जा एजेंसी (आईईए), स्वच्छ ऊर्जा मंत्रिस्तरीय (सीईएम), संयुक्त राष्ट्र पर्यावरण कार्यक्रम (यूएनईपी), अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सौर गठबंधन (आईएसए), संयुक्त राष्ट्र अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विकास संगठन (यूनिडो), एशिया और प्रशांत के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र आर्थिक और सामाजिक आयोग (यूएनईएससीएपी), आरडी 20 और ज्ञान भागीदार जैसे प्रमुख अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संगठन बैठक का हिस्सा होंगे। संबंधित मंत्रालयों के वरिष् ठ सरकारी अधिकारी भी ईटीडब् ल् यूजी बैठक में भाग लेंगे।
The United Nations (UN) has cut its GDP growth forecast for India for calendar year 2023 to 5.8 percent, citing the effect of tighter monetary policy and weak global demand. Growth in India is expected to remain strong at 5.8 percent, albeit slightly lower than the estimated 6.4 percent in 2022, as higher interest rates and a global slowdown weigh on investment and exports, the UN’s World Economic Situation and Prospects 2023 report, published, said.
संयुक्त राष्ट्र के अनुसार साल 2023 में भारत की जीडीपी 5.8 प्रतिशत रहेगी |
संयुक्त राष्ट्र (यूएन) ने सख्त मौद्रिक नीति और कमजोर वैश्विक मांग के प्रभाव का हवाला देते हुए कैलेंडर वर्ष 2023 के लिए भारत के लिए अपने सकल घरेलू उत्पाद (जीडीपी) की वृद्धि दर के अनुमान को घटाकर 5.8 प्रतिशत कर दिया है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र की विश्व आर्थिक स्थिति और संभावनाएं 2023 रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि भारत में वृद्धि 5.8 प्रतिशत पर मजबूत रहने की उम्मीद है, हालांकि 2022 में अनुमानित 6.4 प्रतिशत से थोड़ा कम है, क्योंकि उच्च ब्याज दरों और वैश्विक मंदी का निवेश और निर्यात पर असर पड़ता है।
As part of the Republic Day celebrations, the six-day long mega event, Bharat Parv will be held at Red Fort in Delhi starting today. The event will feature some of the best Republic Day Parade tableaus, according to the Union Tourism Ministry. A pan-India food court and crafts bazaar with 65 handicraft stalls will also be put up, in addition to cultural performances by the Zonal Cultural Centers and cultural groups representing States and Union Territories.

East Coast Railways‘ Visakhapatnam railway station has received the prestigious ‘Green Railway Station Certification’ with the highest Platinum rating. The certificate has been awarded by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) for adopting green concepts. It secured 82 out of 100 points in six environmental categories.

ईस्ट कोस्ट रेलवे’ विशाखापत्तनम रेलवे स्टेशन को उच्चतम प्लेटिनम रेटिंग के साथ प्रतिष्ठित ‘ग्रीन रेलवे स्टेशन प्रमाणन’ प्राप्त हुआ है। ग्रीन कॉन्सेप्ट को अपनाने के लिए इंडियन ग्रीन बिल्डिंग काउंसिल (IGBC) द्वारा सर्टिफिकेट प्रदान किया गया है। इसने छह पर्यावरण श्रेणियों में 100 में से 82 अंक हासिल किए।
Union Territory Administrator, Banwari Lal Purohit has inaugurated northern India’s largest floating solar power project of 2000kWp worth Rs 11.70 crore at waterworks, Sector 39, Chandigarh. The inauguration was held in the presence of MP Kirron Kher. He also inaugurated a 500kWp floating solar project with fountains at Dhanas Lake.

Johannesburg: South Africa said Thursday that it had reached a deal to transfer more than 100 cheetahs to India as part of an ambitious project to reintroduce the spotted cats in the south Asian country. The environment ministry said an initial batch of 12 cheetahs would be flown to India next month, after eight cheetahs arrived from Namibia last September.

As India is hosting the Youth20 (Y20) summit for the first time on the sidelines of the G20 summit, the first meeting of the Y20 Group shall be held in Guwahati from 6th to 8th February, 2023. This is the first of the various meetings to be held on the five Y20 themes across India in a run-up to the final Youth-20 Summit in August 2023. More than 250 delegates from across the world are expected to participate in the 3-day event in Assam. It will focus on five themes of Future of Work; Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction; Peace Building and Reconciliation; Youth in Democracy and Health, Wellbeing and Sports.

The New Goa Manohar International Airport (MIA), built by the GMR Goa International Airport Ltd (GGIAL), a subsidiary of GMR Airports Infrastructure Limited, won the prestigious “Best Sustainable Greenfield Airport” award under Aviation Sustainability and Environment at ASSOCHAM 14th International Conference-cum-Awards for Civil Aviation 2023 at New Delhi. The award was presented for “excellent initiatives” taken by GGIAL in implementing sustainability as one of core concepts. During the conference, Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia presented the award to the senior officials from GGIAL in the presence of industry dignitaries and participants.
