Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Health Minister, launched the world’s first intranasal COVID-19 vaccine, iNNCOVACC, in New Delhi on January 27, 2023. Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL) created it in conjunction with Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance (BIRAC). The vaccine was unveiled in the presence of Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (IC) for Science and Technology, and other authorities.

केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री डॉ. मनसुख मंडाविया ने 27 जनवरी, 2023 को नई दिल्ली में दुनिया का पहला इंट्रानेजल COVID-19 वैक्सीन, iNNCOVACC लॉन्च किया। भारत बायोटेक इंटरनेशनल लिमिटेड (BBIL) ने इसे बायोटेक्नोलॉजी इंडस्ट्री रिसर्च असिस्टेंस (BIRAC) के साथ मिलकर बनाया। केंद्रीय विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) डॉ. जितेंद्र सिंह और अन्य अधिकारियों की उपस्थिति में टीके का अनावरण किया गया।
Indian-American Astronaut Raja J Chari has been nominated for the appointment of Air Force Brigadier General in the American Air Force. It is a United States Air Force one-star General Officer rank, slightly above Colonel and below Major General. Chari is now the Commander and Astronaut for Crew-3 at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Johnson Space Center in Texas.

The Visible Line Emission Coronagraph (VELC) payload for the Aditya-L1 mission was handed over to ISRO by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) on January 26, 2023. The chief executive of Toyota Motor Corp, Akio Toyoda will step down as head of the company his grandfather founded, the Japanese automaker. Koji Sato, the automaker’s 53-year-old chief branding officer, who is also president of Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus, will take over as chief executive from April 1, as Akio Toyoda becomes chairman. The current chairman Takeshi Uchiyamada will drop his chairman title but remain on the board.

India and Egypt signed an MOU to facilitate content exchange, capacity building, and Co-Productions between Prasar Bharati and the National Media Authority of Egypt. The MoU was signed by Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Youth Affairs, and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Government of Egypt, Sameh Hassan Shoukry.

The United Nations (UN) has cut its GDP growth forecast for India for calendar year 2023 to 5.8 percent, citing the effect of tighter monetary policy and weak global demand. Growth in India is expected to remain strong at 5.8 percent, albeit slightly lower than the estimated 6.4 percent in 2022, as higher interest rates and a global slowdown weigh on investment and exports, the UN’s World Economic Situation and Prospects 2023 report, published, said.

President of India, Droupadi Murmu has approved 412 Gallantry awards and other Defence decorations to Armed Forces personnel and others. These include six Kirti Chakras, including four posthumous, and 15 Shaurya Chakras including two posthumous. These include one Bar to Sena Medal (Gallantry), 92 Sena Medals, including four posthumous, one Nao Sena Medal (Gallantry), seven Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry) and 29 Param Vishisht Seva Medals.

East Coast Railways‘ Visakhapatnam railway station has received the prestigious ‘Green Railway Station Certification’ with the highest Platinum rating. The certificate has been awarded by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) for adopting green concepts. It secured 82 out of 100 points in six environmental categories.

Naresh Lalwani has been appointed General Manager of Central Railway. He is a senior officer from the 1985 batch of the Indian Railway Engineering Service. He was Senior Deputy General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer of Western Railway before becoming General Manager of Central Railway.
