1. UN names Indo-Canadian Afshan Khan in Key post for drive to end malnutrition

Afshan Khan, an Indo-Canadian, has been named the coordinator of the “Scaling Up Nutrition Movement,” according to UN Secretary-General António Guterres. According to Stephane Dujarric, a spokesperson for the secretary-general at the UN headquarters in New York, the Scaling Up Nutrition or SUN Movement is a country-driven project headed by 65 nations and four Indian states who are committed to ending all types of malnutrition by 2030.

• संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने भारत-कनाडाई अफशां खान को कुपोषण समाप्त करने के अभियान के लिए प्रमुख पद पर नियुक्त किया

संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासचिव एंटोनियो गुटेरेस के अनुसार इंडो-कैनेडियन अफशां खान को “स्केलिंग अप न्यूट्रिशन मूवमेंट” का समन्वयक नामित किया गया है। न्यूयॉर्क में संयुक्त राष्ट्र मुख्यालय में महासचिव के प्रवक्ता स्टीफ़न दुजारिक के अनुसार, स्केलिंग अप न्यूट्रिशन या सन मूवमेंट एक देश-संचालित परियोजना है जिसकी अध्यक्षता 65 राष्ट्र और चार भारतीय राज्य करते हैं जो 2030 तक सभी प्रकार के कुपोषण को समाप्त करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं।

2. Australia to conduct Malabar naval exercise for first time this August

Malabar multilateral naval exercise will be hosted by Australia for the first time this year, which includes participation from India, Australia, Japan, and the United States.

3. UAE and India launch the UAE Chapter of the Business Council

India and the UAE are celebrating the first anniversary of their Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, signed on February 18, 2022.

4. India’s First Agri Chatbot Ama KrushAI Launched in Odisha

Governor of Odisha Prof. Ganeshi Lal launched India’s first AI Chatbot for the Agricultural sector ‘Ama KrushAI’ at the valedictory session of ‘Krushi Odisha 2023’. Ama KrushAI chatbot will help the farmers with the best agronomic practices, inform them about government schemes, and loan products from more than 40 commercial and cooperative banks.

• भारत का पहला एग्री चैटबॉट Ama KrushAI ओडिशा में लॉन्च किया गया

ओडिशा के राज्यपाल प्रो. गणेशी लाल ने कृषि ओडिशा 2023 के समापन सत्र में कृषि क्षेत्र के लिए भारत का पहला एआई चैटबॉट ‘ Ama KrushAI’ लॉन्च किया। Ama KrushAI चैटबॉट किसानों को सर्वोत्तम कृषि पद्धतियों के साथ मदद करेगा, उन्हें सरकारी योजनाओं और 40 से अधिक वाणिज्यिक और सहकारी बैंकों से ऋण उत्पादों के बारे में सूचित करेगा।

5. Eknath Shinde-led Sena Faction Gets ‘Bow and Arrow’ Symbol

The Election Commission recognized the faction led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as the real Shiv Sena and allocated it the bow and arrow symbol. In the order, the Election Commission informed that 40 MLAs backing Shinde got nearly 76% of the votes polled in favor of the 55 Shiv Sena candidates who had won their seats in the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly polls.

चुनाव आयोग ने महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे के नेतृत्व वाले गुट को असली शिवसेना के रूप में मान्यता दी और उसे धनुष और तीर का प्रतीक आवंटित किया। आदेश में, चुनाव आयोग ने सूचित किया कि शिंदे के समर्थन वाले 40 विधायकों ने 2019 के महाराष्ट्र विधानसभा चुनावों में अपनी सीटों पर जीत हासिल करने वाले 55 शिवसेना उम्मीदवारों के पक्ष में लगभग 76% मत प्राप्त किए।

6. First PMGati Shakti Workshop Held in Goa for Western & Central Zone

The first Prime Minister GatiShakti regional workshop for the Western and Central Zone was held in Goa. The workshop featured discussions on use cases of National Master Plan (NMP) adoption by Central Ministries & State Departments for planning and acted as a platform for mutual learning among the States and Central Ministries/Departments.

7. Ind-Ra anticipates India’s growth to be below 6% in FY24

IndiaRatings (Ind-Ra) revised its FY24 growth forecast downward to 5.9% from the Reserve Bank of India‘s 6.4%. The agency predicts that growth would not surpass 6% in 2023–2024 despite factors such as continuing government capital spending, deleverage corporations, reduced NPAs, the Production-Linked Incentive Scheme, and the expectation that global commodity prices will remain stable.

8. ADB strives $25 billion for India’s infra, social and green needs

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) in order to help India fulfil its most pressing development requirements, pledged up to $25 billion over the course of the next five years to support social development, climate change, and infrastructure development in India under the PM Gati Shakti project.
