1. Atal Innovation Mission launches ATL Sarthi

 Atal Innovation Mission is establishing Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATLs) in schools across India to foster curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds; and inculcate skills such as design thinking mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing, etc. As of date, AIM has funded 10,000 schools to establish Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs). AIM is continuously strengthening this ecosystem by developing tools and frameworks to enhance the performance of ATLs and achieve the desired objectives. ATL Sarthi is one such initiative in this direction. As the name suggests, Sarthi is a charioteer and ATL Sarthi will enable the ATLs to be efficient and effective.

अटल इनोवेशन मिशन युवा मन में जिज्ञासा, रचनात्मकता और कल्पना को बढ़ावा देने के लिए भारत भर के स्कूलों में अटल टिंकरिंग प्रयोगशालाओं (एटीएल) की स्थापना कर रहा है; और डिजाइन थिंकिंग माइंडसेट, कम्प्यूटेशनल थिंकिंग, एडाप्टिव लर्निंग, फिजिकल कंप्यूटिंग आदि जैसे कौशल विकसित करें। आज की तारीख में एआईएम ने अटल टिंकरिंग लैब्स (एटीएल) स्थापित करने के लिए 10,000 स्कूलों को वित्त पोषित किया है। AIM ATL के प्रदर्शन को बढ़ाने और वांछित उद्देश्यों को प्राप्त करने के लिए उपकरणों और रूपरेखाओं को विकसित करके इस पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र को लगातार मजबूत कर रहा है। एटीएल सारथी इस दिशा में एक ऐसी ही पहल है। जैसा कि नाम से पता चलता है, सारथी एक सारथी है और एटीएल सारथी एटीएल को कुशल और प्रभावी बनाने में सक्षम करेगा।

2. AAHAR 2023: Asia’s biggest International Food and Hospitality Fair begins in Delhi

The objective of Aahar 2023, which was put together with the help of the Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries, the Agriculture and Processed Food Produacts Export Development Authority (APEDA), and other organisations, is to showcase the hospitality industry’s potential and showcase technologies, goods, and services to both domestic and foreign consumers. The greatest four-day culinary event in India is called Aahar 2023, where wholesalers, caterers, hoteliers, and restaurant owners gather to source the best food, hospitality, and equipment as well as to assess industry trends. At the fair’s major event, Culinary Art India, WACS-certified jury members from India and overseas will also assess the skill of more than 500 cooks.

3. Eric Garcetti appointed as US Ambassador to India

The US Senate Committee has announced the appointment of Eric Garcetti as the new US Ambassador to India. Despite being nominated by President Joe Biden almost two years ago, Garcetti’s appointment had been pending until now. Eric Garcetti served as the President of the City Council of Los Angeles for four consecutive terms and is known to be a close acquaintance of President Biden. He has also emerged as a leader within the Democratic Party.

4. Earthquake of magnitude 7.1 strikes New Zealand’s Kermadec Island

An earthquake of 7.1 magnitude struck the New Zealand’s Kermadec Islands region, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said. The earthquake was estimated at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles). The US Tsunami Warning System has issued a tsunami warning following this earthquake. Reports in the New Zealand media are suggesting issuance of relevant rescue measures to prevent further mishappenings.

• न्यूजीलैंड के केरमाडेक द्वीप में 1 तीव्रता का भूकंप आया

यूएस जियोलॉजिकल सर्वे (यूएसजीएस) ने कहा कि न्यूजीलैंड के केरमाडेक द्वीप समूह क्षेत्र में 7.1 तीव्रता का भूकंप आया। भूकंप का अनुमान 10 किमी (6.21 मील) की गहराई पर लगाया गया था। इस भूकंप के बाद अमेरिकी सुनामी चेतावनी प्रणाली ने सुनामी की चेतावनी जारी की है। न्यूज़ीलैंड मीडिया की रिपोर्टें आगे होने वाली दुर्घटनाओं को रोकने के लिए प्रासंगिक बचाव उपाय जारी करने का सुझाव दे रही हैं।

5. Uttarakhand govt approves 10 % horizontal reservation for statehood activists

The decision on the reservation to Statehood activists assumes significance since the governor had returned the bill granting 10 per cent reservation to the statehood activists in the past. The statehood activists are not getting the benefit of reservation in government jobs for the past 12 years. The government of Uttarakhand has approved a 10% horizontal reservation for statehood campaigners in state government positions. Under the direction of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the decision was made during a cabinet meeting held in Bhararisain.

6. Multi-lateral ASW Exercise Sea Dragon 23 commences

The Indian Navy deployed a P8I aircraft to Guam, USA, on March, 2023, to participate in the third edition of ‘Exercise Sea Dragon 23’, a coordinated multi-lateral Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) exercise for Long Range MR ASW aircraft organized by the US Navy.

7. Honeywell appoints veteran Vimal Kapur as CEO

Honeywell International HON announced that company current president and chief operating officer, Vimal Kapur, will succeed Darius Adamczyk as the new chief executive officer (CEO), effective Jun 1. He has also been named to the board of directors of HON as of March 2023. He has 34 years of experience working for Honeywell across multiple business models, sectors, geographic locations, and economic cycles.
