Indian-American, Neil Mohan has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of YouTube. He will succeed current chief Susan Wojcicki, who will step down after 25 years. He joined Google in 2008, and was later appointed Chief Product Officer at YouTube in 2015. Prior to Google, he served as a senior analyst at Accenture and later joined Microsoft. He is an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

The fourth edition of “EX DHARMA GUARDIAN”, a joint military exercise between India and Japan, is being conducted at Camp Imazu, Shiga Prefecture, Japan from February 17 – March 2, 2023. The exercise involves platoon-level joint training on operations in jungle and semi-urban or urban areas.
Soldiers from the Garhwal Rifles Regiment of the Indian Army and the Infantry Regiment of Japan participated in the exercise.
Objective: To enhance interoperability in planning and execution.

भारत और जापान के बीच एक संयुक्त सैन्य अभ्यास, “EX DHARMA GUARDIAN” का चौथा संस्करण 17 फरवरी – 2 मार्च, 2023 से जापान के शिगा प्रांत के कैंप इमाजू में शुरू किया जा रहा है। इस अभ्यास में जंगल और अर्ध-शहरी या शहरी इलाकों में संचालन पर प्लाटून-स्तरीय संयुक्त प्रशिक्षण शामिल है।
भारतीय सेना गढ़वाल राइफल्स रेजिमेंट के सैनिकों और जापान की इन्फैंट्री रेजिमेंट के सैनिकों ने अभ्यास में भाग लिया।
उद्देश्य: योजना और निष्पादन में अंतर-संचालनीयता को बढ़ाना।
According to the latest report released by TomTom, Bengaluru’s traffic has made it the second slowest place in the world to cover a distance of 10 km by road in 2022 with almost half an hour of travel time. Whereas in 2022, London ranks first with an average of 36 minutes and 20 seconds to travel 10 km. Dublin (Ireland), Sapporo (city in Japan), and Milan (Italy) are ranked third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.

टॉमटॉम द्वारा जारी नवीनतम रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, बेंगलुरु के ट्रैफिक ने 2022 में सड़क मार्ग से यात्रा के समय के लगभग आधे घंटे के साथ 10 किमी की दूरी तय करने के लिए इसे दुनिया का दूसरा सबसे धीमा स्थान बना दिया है। जबकि 2022 में 10 किमी की यात्रा करने के लिए लंदन 36 मिनट और 20 सेकंड के औसत के साथ पहले स्थान पर है। डबलिन (आयरलैंड), साप्पोरो (जापान का शहर), और मिलन (इटली) क्रमशः तीसरे, चौथे और पांचवें स्थान पर हैं।
Pratiksha Trust signed an MoU with Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Center for Brain Research (CBR) for research, innovation and translation in deep science. The Pratiksha Trust commits more than Rs 450 crore over the next 10 years for this research.
Objective: To support basic and translational research on neurodegenerative diseases of the elderly population.
Pratiksha Trust: It was founded by Kris Gopalakrishnan and Sudha Gopalakrishnan.

प्रतीक्षा ट्रस्ट ने गहरे विज्ञान में अनुसंधान, नवाचार और अनुवाद हेतु भारतीय विज्ञान संस्थान (IISc) और सेंटर फॉर ब्रेन रिसर्च (CBR) के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए। इस शोध के लिए प्रतीक्षा ट्रस्ट अगले 10 वर्षों में 450 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की प्रतिबद्धता करता है।
उद्देश्य: बुजुर्ग आबादी के न्यूरोडीजेनेरेटिव रोगों पर मौलिक और अनुवाद संबंधी शोध का समर्थन करना।
प्रतीक्षा ट्रस्ट: इसकी स्थापना क्रिष गोपालकृष्णन और सुधा गोपालकृष्णन ने की थी।
Kavach-2023, a national level hackathon was launched in New Delhi to identify innovative ideas and technological solutions to meet the challenges of cyber security and cybercrime of the 21st century. Youth from educational institutions and registered start-ups participated in the 36-hour event. The hackathon was jointly organized by AICTE, Bureau of Police Research and Development and Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre.

21वीं सदी की साइबर सुरक्षा और साइबर अपराध की चुनौतियों से निपटने के लिए नवीन विचारों और तकनीकी समाधानों की पहचान करने हेतु नई दिल्ली में एक राष्ट्रीय स्तर का हैकथॉन, कवच-2023 लॉन्च किया गया। शैक्षणिक संस्थानों और पंजीकृत स्टार्ट-अप्स के युवाओं ने 36 घंटे तक चलने वाले इस कार्यक्रम में भाग लिया। यह हैकथॉन एआईसीटीई, पुलिस अनुसंधान और विकास ब्यूरो तथा भारतीय साइबर अपराध समन्वय केंद्र द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से आयोजित किया गया था।
The sixth phase of Sujalam-Suflam Jal Abhiyan has been launched in Gujarat on February 17, 2023. The state-wide campaign was launched by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at Khoraj in Gandhinagar. This phase will last for 104 days and will continue till May 31, 2023. Development works like deepening of lakes, delisting of check dams and reservoirs, cleaning of canals etc. will be done.
Objective: To raise the ground water level and make optimum use of rain water.
सुजलाम-सुफलाम जल अभियान का छठा चरण शुरू हुआ।
सुजलाम-सुफलाम जल अभियान का छठा चरण 17 फरवरी, 2023 को गुजरात में शुरू किया गया है। राज्यव्यापी अभियान की शुरुआत गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री भूपेंद्र पटेल ने गांधीनगर के खोरज में की थी। यह चरण 104 दिनों तक चलेगा और 31 मई, 2023 तक चलेगा। झीलों को गहरा करने, चेकडैम और जलाशयों को हटाने, नहरों की सफाई आदि जैसे विकास कार्य किए जाएंगे।
उद्देश्य: भूजल स्तर को ऊपर उठाना और वर्षा जल का इष्टतम उपयोग करना।
Central Water Commission (CWC) signed an MoU with IIT Roorkee for the development of International Center of Excellence for Dams (ICED). The center will be developed under the externally funded Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP) Phase II and Phase III. It shall be valid for ten years from the date of signing or till the period of DRIP Phase-II and Phase-II scheme, whichever is earlier.

केंद्रीय जल आयोग (CWC) ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बांध उत्कृष्टता केंद्र (ICED) के विकास हेतु आईआईटी रुड़की के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए। केंद्र को बाहरी रूप से वित्तपोषित बांध पुनर्वास और सुधार परियोजना (DRIP) चरण II और चरण III के तहत विकसित किया जाएगा। यह हस्ताक्षर करने की तारीख से दस साल या डीआरआईपी चरण-II और चरण-II योजना की अवधि तक, जो भी पहले हो, वैध रहेगा।
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) made necessary changes in NEFT and RTGS systems for transactions related to Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA). Under FCRA, foreign contribution should be received only in “FCRA Account” of State Bank of India (SBI), New Delhi Main Branch (NDMB). Contributions to the FCRA account are received directly from foreign banks through SWIFT and from Indian intermediary banks through NEFT and RTGS systems.

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने विदेशी योगदान (विनियमन) अधिनियम (FCRA) से संबंधित लेन-देन हेतु NEFT और RTGS सिस्टम में आवश्यक बदलाव किए। FCRA के तहत, विदेशी योगदान केवल भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (एसबीआई), नई दिल्ली मुख्य शाखा (NDMB) के “एफसीआरए खाते” में प्राप्त होना चाहिए। FCRA खाते में योगदान सीधे विदेशी बैंकों से स्विफ्ट के माध्यम से और भारतीय मध्यस्थ बैंकों से एनईएफटी और आरटीजीएस सिस्टम के माध्यम से प्राप्त होता है।
IIT Kanpur has developed an energy-efficient compressed air-based pipeline system. The cargo-based hyperloop system was developed by professor, Bishakh Bhattacharya, and research scientists, Kanhaiya Lal Chaurasia and Yashasvi Sinha. It will address challenges like wastage of material, uncertainty in delivery time and air pollution.
Reason: To offer round the clock surveillance for transportation of coal and minerals, with considerable savings in time and cost.

IIT कानपुर ने एक ऊर्जा-कुशल संपीड़ित वायु-आधारित पाइपलाइन प्रणाली विकसित की है। कार्गो आधारित हाइपरलूप सिस्टम प्रोफेसर, बिषाख भट्टाचार्य, और अनुसंधान वैज्ञानिक कन्हैया लाल चौरसिया तथा यशस्वी सिन्हा द्वारा विकसित किया गया था। यह सामग्री के नुकसान, डिलीवरी के समय में अनिश्चितता और वायु प्रदूषण जैसी चुनौतियों का समाधान करेगा।
कारण: कोयले और खनिजों के परिवहन के लिए, समय और लागत में काफी बचत के साथ चौबीसों घंटे निगरानी की पेशकश करना।
Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, FSSAI and National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Hyderabad (NIPER Hyderabad) signed a tripartite MoU to build nutritional supplement testing capacity in India. It will provide information and create awareness regarding the risks associated with the use of nutritional supplements. It will also enhance opportunities for research in clean sports and anti-doping domains.

UIDAI has launched a chatbot named Aadhaar Mitra to help people get answers to their queries related to Aadhaar card. The Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning (AI/ML) based chatbot can answer queries related to enrollment number, PVC card order status and complaint status. It is available in both English and Hindi languages. It also shows videos to help users understand its features and how to use them.

UIDAI ने लोगों को आधार कार्ड से संबंधित उनके प्रश्नों का उत्तर पाने में मदद करने हेतु आधार मित्र नामक एक चैटबॉट लॉन्च किया है। आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस/ मशीन लर्निंग (एआई/एमएल) आधारित चैटबॉट नामांकन संख्या, पीवीसी कार्ड ऑर्डर की स्थिति और शिकायत की स्थिति से संबंधित प्रश्नों का उत्तर दे सकता है। यह अंग्रेजी और हिंदी दोनों भाषाओं में उपलब्ध है। यह उपयोगकर्ताओं को इसकी विशेषताओं और उनका उपयोग करने के तरीके को समझने में मदद करने हेतु वीडियो भी दिखाता है।
‘Don’t Choose Extinction’, a campaign launched by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), has won gold and silver awards in two different categories at the 2nd annual Anthem Awards. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness in the context of the climate emergency. The campaign won gold in the Sustainability, Environment and Climate – Nonprofit Campaign category, while it won silver in the Sustainability, Environment and Climate – Global Awareness Campaign category.
