1. PM Modi flags off Rajasthan’s first Vande Bharat Express train

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Rajasthan’s first Vande Bharat Express train via video conferencing, which is the 15th such train in the country. The prime minister emphasized that the Vande Bharat Express symbolizes development, modernity, self-reliance, and stability, enriching the spirit of ‘India First, Always First’. He also mentioned that the train will greatly benefit Rajasthan’s tourism industry.

प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से राजस्थान की पहली वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन की शुरुआत की, जो देश की 15वीं ऐसी ट्रेन है। प्रधान मंत्री ने जोर दिया कि वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेस विकास, आधुनिकता, आत्मनिर्भरता और स्थिरता का प्रतीक है, जो ‘इंडिया फर्स्ट, ऑलवेज फर्स्ट’ की भावना को समृद्ध करती है। उन्होंने यह भी उल्लेख किया कि ट्रेन से राजस्थान के पर्यटन उद्योग को बहुत लाभ होगा।

2. China records world’s first human death from H3N8 bird flu

The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that a woman from Guangdong, a southern province of China, has died from a rare strain of bird flu that is not commonly found in humans. Although three people have been confirmed to have been infected with the H3N8 subtype of avian influenza, this strain does not seem to transmit from person to person. The deceased woman was 56 years old.

3. MP’s Gond Painting of Acquires GI Tag

The well-known Gond painting of Madhya Pradesh has been granted the coveted Geographical Indication (GI) tag, which safeguards and acknowledges the work of tribal artists and requires approval from a committee for non-tribal artists to use the art. A GI tag is a symbol used on items that are exclusively produced in a specific geographical region and have characteristics or a reputation that are associated with that location.

4. United Nations: India’s economic growth projected to decelerate to 6% in 2023 from 6.6% in 2022

As per the latest Trade and Development Report Update released by the United Nations Trade and Development Conference (UNCTAD), India’s economic growth is expected to slow down from 6.6% in 2022 to 6% in 2023. The report also predicts a decline in global growth in 2023 to 2.1% from the previously projected 2.2% in September 2022. However, this projection is based on the assumption that the adverse impact of higher interest rates on the financial sector is limited to the first quarter’s bank runs and bailouts.

5. Retail inflation moderates to 5.66% in March from 6.44% in February

India’s Annual Retail Inflation for March Eases Below Central Bank’s Tolerance Level for the First Time in 2023. According to the NSO data, India’s annual retail inflation for March eased to 5.66% from 6.44% in February. This is a positive development for the economy, as it indicates that inflationary pressures may be easing. The central bank’s upper tolerance level for inflation is 6%, so the current rate is below this level, which is a welcome change.

• फरवरी में खुदरा मुद्रास्फीति 44% से मार्च में 5.66% हो गई

मार्च के लिए भारत की वार्षिक खुदरा मुद्रास्फीति 2023 में पहली बार केंद्रीय बैंक के सहिष्णुता स्तर से नीचे आई। एनएसओ के आंकड़ों के अनुसार, मार्च के लिए भारत की वार्षिक खुदरा मुद्रास्फीति फरवरी में 6.44% से घटकर 5.66% हो गई। यह अर्थव्यवस्था के लिए एक सकारात्मक विकास है, क्योंकि यह इंगित करता है कि मुद्रास्फीति के दबाव कम हो सकते हैं। मुद्रास्फीति के लिए केंद्रीय बैंक का ऊपरी सहिष्णुता स्तर 6% है, इसलिए वर्तमान दर इस स्तर से नीचे है, जो एक स्वागत योग्य परिवर्तन है।

6. Solar Energy Corporation of India gets ‘Miniratna Category-I’ status

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has granted Miniratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) status to the state-owned Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI), according to a statement. SECI, which was established in 2011, is the primary implementing agency for renewable energy schemes/projects of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy aimed at fulfilling India’s international commitments. SECI has played a Central role in the rapid increase of RE generation capacity in the country and has contributed towards the nation’s climate commitments, carbon emission reduction strategies and sustainable energy transition.

7. HDFC Bank Signs $300 Million Credit Agreement with Export-Import Bank of Korea

HDFC Bank, the leading private sector bank in India, has signed a Master Inter Bank Credit Agreement with the Export-Import Bank of Korea, with a total value of US $300 million. The signing ceremony took place in GIFT City, Gujarat, and aims to help HDFC Bank raise foreign currency funds, which will be used to support Korea-related businesses.

• एचडीएफसी बैंक ने एक्सपोर्ट–इम्पोर्ट बैंक ऑफ कोरिया के साथ $300 मिलियन का क्रेडिट समझौता किया

भारत में अग्रणी निजी क्षेत्र के बैंक एचडीएफसी बैंक ने एक्सपोर्ट-इम्पोर्ट बैंक ऑफ कोरिया के साथ 300 मिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर के कुल मूल्य के साथ एक मास्टर इंटर बैंक क्रेडिट समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। हस्ताक्षर समारोह गिफ्ट सिटी, गुजरात में हुआ और इसका उद्देश्य एचडीएफसी बैंक को विदेशी मुद्रा कोष जुटाने में मदद करना है, जिसका उपयोग कोरिया से संबंधित व्यवसायों का समर्थन करने के लिए किया जाएगा।
