India extends additional $500 million credit line to help Sri Lanka purchase fuel

1. India will provide an additional $500 million in fuel assistance to Sri Lanka.

India will provide an additional $500 million in financial assistance to help the Sri Lankan island nation buy fuel, and Bangladesh was prepared to postpone a $450 million swap to help Colombo. This is the second $500 million gasoline credit that India has given to the government of Sri Lanka, which is battling the country’s biggest financial crisis in living memory.

भारत श्रीलंका को अतिरिक्त 500 मिलियन डॉलर की ईंधन सहायता देगा।

2. Maharashtra is the first state in India to start a bus service with a fully digital ticketing system.

Maharashtra State Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray inaugurated the tap-in tap-out service on the Gateway of India to Churchgate route in an effort to ease movement across Mumbai. Aaditya Thackeray said during the event that Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) is India’s first fully digital bus service.

महाराष्ट्र भारत का पहला राज्य है जिसने पूरी तरह से डिजिटल टिकटिंग प्रणाली के साथ बस सेवा शुरू की है।

महाराष्ट्र राज्य के पर्यावरण मंत्री आदित्य ठाकरे ने पूरे मुंबई में आवागमन को आसान बनाने के प्रयास में गेटवे ऑफ इंडिया से चर्चगेट मार्ग पर टैप-इन टैप-आउट सेवा का उद्घाटन किया। आदित्य ठाकरे ने इस कार्यक्रम के दौरान कहा कि बृहन्मुंबई बिजली आपूर्ति और परिवहन (BEST) भारत की पहली पूर्ण डिजिटल बस सेवा है।

 

3. Capgemini India CEO Ashwin Yardi joins UNICEF Youth Board as Co-Chair.

Yuvah in India (Generation Unlimited India) today announced that Ashwin Yardi, CEO of Capgemini in India, is starting immediately with Yasumasa Kimura, UNICEF representative, being the co-chair of the organization.

कैपजेमिनी इंडिया के सीईओ अश्विन यार्डी सह-अध्यक्ष के रूप में यूनिसेफ युवा बोर्ड में शामिल हुए।

4. NIXI-CSC and Tripura signed MoU for setting up of International Data Center.

Tripura state government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NIXI-CSC Data Services Center to develop an international grade data center in the state. For setting up the projected data centre, National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) and CSE e-Governance Services Limited have formed a joint venture named NIXI-CSC Data Services Centre.

5. POSOCO has tied up with IIT Delhi for the research.

The Northern Regional Load Despatch Center of Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO) has collaborated with the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) to encourage research on issues related to India’s power sector and strengthen linkages between academia and industry. Signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

6. Dhanlaxmi Bank signs MoU with CBDT, CBIC for tax collection.

For collection of taxes, Dhanlaxmi Bank has signed an MoU with Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC). Dhanlaxmi Bank said in a regulatory filing that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has authorized the bank to collect various taxes based on the recommendation of the Controller General of Accounts.

धनलक्ष्मी बैंक ने कर संग्रह के लिए सीबीडीटी, सीबीआईसी के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

7. PRSI Awards will be presented to NMDC in 2022.

National Mineral Development Corporation Limited (NMDC) secured the first position in four categories at the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) Public Relations Awards 2022. Shri V Srinivasa Gaur, Telangana Minister of Prohibition & Products, Sports & Youth Services, Tourism & Culture presented the award on behalf of Navratna PSU to Shri Praveen Kumar, ED (Personnel) and Shri CH Srinivasa Rao DGM (Corporate Communications) of NMDC .

8. The Wisden Almanack Names Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah As “Five Cricketers Of The Year”

India captain Rohit Sharma and pacer Jasprit Bumrah have been named among the “Five Cricketers of the Year” in the 2022 edition of the Wisden Almanack. England fast bowler Ollie Robinson, South African women’s player Dane van Niekerk and New Zealand opener Devon Conway are the others to have made the cut.

9. National Panchayati Raj Day 2022: 24 April

National Panchayati Raj Day is a national holiday in India that honors the Panchayati Raj system. It is celebrated every year on 24 April. The 73rd Constitution Amendment Act, passed in 1992, is also celebrated on this day.
